Distraction Osteogenesis

Distraction osteogenesis is a biologic method that stimulates new bone formation through controlled mechanical activation after surgery. Prof. Dr. Altan VAROL uses digital planning and 3D imaging to select suitable cases. Dedicated distractors are activated at a set rate/rhythm to gain bone volume for implants or skeletal corrections.

The method offers stable results, soft‑tissue adaptation and often less graft need. During activation and consolidation, regular visits, hygiene and nutrition instructions are crucial. Process and expectations are explained; medication and care protocols improve comfort.
